BESSAC, a subsidiary of the VINCI Group and a key partner on major civil engineering megaprojects, is hiring a Quality Assurance Coordinator for a high-profile infrastructure project in Canada. This role offers a permanent contract (CDI) with strong career growth in construction quality management and QHSE compliance.

The position is part of the refurbishment of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, a complex project involving tunnel construction, deep-water intake systems, and strict quality assurance and safety standards in a regulated nuclear environment.

Project Overview – High-Impact Engineering

  • ✔ Construction of a 5 km tunnel using a pressurized TBM.
  • ✔ Development of onshore and offshore shafts.
  • ✔ Installation of a modular offshore intake structure.
  • ✔ Execution in a highly controlled nuclear construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will play a strategic role in ensuring quality control, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all construction activities.

Quality Management & Compliance

  • ✔ Establish and maintain quality control systems on-site.
  • ✔ Coordinate inspections, tests, and ensure compliance with ITPs & WMS.
  • ✔ Monitor non-conformities (NCR) and validate corrective actions.
  • ✔ Implement preventive measures to reduce quality risks.
  • ✔ Ensure strict compliance with construction quality standards.

Audits & IMS

  • ✔ Plan and conduct internal and subcontractor audits.
  • ✔ Maintain Integrated Management System (IMS) schedules.
  • ✔ Develop toolbox talks, best practices, and training materials.

NCR / CA & Documentation

  • ✔ Manage NCR/Corrective Actions using ACONEX.
  • ✔ Ensure accurate reporting, tracking, and closure of issues.
  • ✔ Provide training and support to project teams.

Materials & Equipment

  • ✔ Review Material Approval Requests (MAR).
  • ✔ Ensure calibration and readiness of testing equipment.

Reporting & Coordination

  • ✔ Issue quality reports and communicate alerts.
  • ✔ Coordinate with QHSE teams and stakeholders.
  • ✔ Stop work if safety or quality risks are identified.

Candidate Profile

This role targets experienced professionals in construction quality control and QHSE management on large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • ✔ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years experience in quality assurance on major projects.
  • ✔ Strong knowledge of ISO standards and QHSE regulations.
  • ✔ Expertise in audits, inspections, and compliance.
  • ✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • ✔ Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
